The James Beard Foundation announced their 2014 semifinalists in the restaurant and chef categories today, and three Austin chefs have been honored. Uchi's Philip Speer is a semifinalist in the Outstanding Pasty Chef category, and both Bryce Gilmore of Barley Swine and David Bull of Congress/La Corsha Hospitality Group are semifinalists in the Best Chef Southwest category.
The finalists will be announced on Tuesday March 18, and winners will be announced at the James Beard Foundation Awards on May 5. All three chefs have been previously nominated in their categories, and Gilmore was a finalist in 2013.
