UPDATE, Tuesday 11:55 a.m.: The Wu Chow pop-up is being relocated to Swift's Attic.
Get ready for a taste of Wu Chow, the long-awaited modern Chinese concept from the Swift's Attic team: They'll offer a sneak peek in the form of a "guerilla soup dumpling service" to be held Tuesday starting at 11:30 a.m. in the courtyard on 4th Street in between Brazos and Congress, right next to the Fed Ex and across the street from Frost Bank Tower. (Best of all, said dumplings are free.)
The new venture from owner C.K. Chin is slated for the ground floor of the IBC tower on West 6th and will draw inspiration from some of Chin's family recipes; diners can also expect a heavy focus on dim sum.
Follow Wu Chow on Twitter @wuchowaustin for more details on the dumpling pop-up as well as future developments. For a sneak peek of possible menu items, do scope out the restaurant's Facebook page, which has plenty of food porn to offer in the form of dishes like salt and pepper squid, sticky rice and pork dumplings, and wontons swimming in fiery red chili oil.
