Veracruz All Natural's high-quality ingredients, handmade tortillas, and killer salsas have inspired a cult-like devotion in taco-crazed Austinites, and news of a planned restaurant at 2301 Cesar Chavez made waves earlier this year. Now, co-owner Reyna Vasquez tells Eater in an email they've decided to search for a new location after a year of permitting woes:
We selected an old home on East Cesar Chavez for our restaurant site because we liked the house and the location, and we thought this location would fit our vision for our restaurant. After almost a year of working with architects and the city we know now that this location isn't the right place for the restaurant. We have made the decision to look for another location instead of trying to compromise on our vision.
In the meantime, their trailer on East 7th street has expanded hours in order to combat the long wait times at the original trailer at 1704 E. Cesar Chavez. The location at East 7th Eats is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers to-go orders as well.
