Austin, the city of excellent dining, will be featured prominently on Bravo’s new series, Best New Restaurants, set to premiere on January 21, 2015. Host/judge/executive producer Tom Colicchio, along with BlackboardEats.com CEO Maggie Nemser and ‘Wichcraft co-founder Jeffrey Zurofsky, will travel to four cities and visit 16 restaurants to determine which one is the best.

The series will begin with rounds, where the paired restaurants, determined by similarities in theme, concept or techniques, will compete. Here’s the list of Austin pairings:

Shared Plates: Swift’s Attic and Miami’s The Federal
New Service Concepts: Restaurant Jezebel and Los Angeles’s The Church Key
Operated by Couples: Barlata Tapas Bar and Miami’s R House
Battle of the Burger: Porter Ale House and Gastropub and Miami’s Tongue & Cheek

The winners of those rounds will then be split into two groups and create competing pop-up restaurants. The finale will feature final two restaurants with a dinner service for VIP guests. The winning restaurant will receive $100,000, an editorial feature in Bon Appétit, and a spot at the Vegas Uncork'd food festival.
