Sarah McIntosh, owner and chef of Épicerie, graces the cover of this month’s issue of Austin Woman. After learning how to open her own restaurant with Épicerie over a year ago, she mentioned that she is looking for a new location for a second restaurant similar to her New Orleans-inspired cafe and grocery store, but in a different neighborhood. She said,

"I think it is always harder with the first one because you are figuring things out [...] You just kind of start and then build. Just like any business, you have to start somewhere and build onto that to get where you want to be."

McIntosh also spoke about working as a female chef in predominantly male kitchens, local-sourcing her produce, and the importance of learning all the time. The article includes a list of her favorite farms, markets, and ethnic restaurants, as well as some of her own recipes.
