Burnet Road is getting ready to welcome another new restaurant. Signage for 416 Bar and Grille went up earlier this month outside the brand new building at 5011 Burnet Road. Helmed by the father-son team of John and Colin Jurey, 416 will offer what they call "Americana cuisine" with a focus on locally-sourced ingredients, and weekend brunch will be served, too.
The father, John, had his own restaurant and food truck ventures before attending and graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, followed by stints at various Whole Foods locations until he ended up in Austin. Colin worked in his dad’s restaurant in Florida, and most recently at 24 Diner. The name is an ode to his call number during his messengering days in San Francisco, where John opened one of the city’s first food trucks in the 1970s.
The exact opening date isn’t set yet, but once open, restaurant hours will start at 4:16pm, in honor of its name.
