Expect new Cuban cuisine down in South Austin when Guantanamera opens soon at 6800 Westgate, though no exact date has been set yet. First mentioned by the Austin Chronicle in October, the restaurant has filed TABC permits recently. On the menu will be "Traditional Cuban cuisine," offering an "authentic taste of beautiful Cuba," which includes Cubanos and mojitos, according to their Facebook page. The name comes from a patriotic folk song about Cuba.
