Austin's beloved cab alternative Uber is driving something other than people today: sandwiches. The car service app has joined forces with East 6th bakery and beer garden Easy Tiger to deliver lunches today only in downtown Austin from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., with all proceeds going to do-gooders No Kid Hungry. Today's sandwich offering consists of smoked turkey on fresh-baked pain au levain topped with avocado, radish, and roasted jalapeño aioli; it comes with a Side of dill potato salad and a chocolate chunk cookie, and will run you $10.
To order, start up the app during the designated time period and select the "Lunch" option via the bottom slider; up to 10 lunches can be ordered by each user. Uber warns that "demand for UberLUNCH will be high, so please be patient."
