South Lamar phenom (and Eater's restaurant of the year) Odd Duck will celebrate their first year in business by returning to their trailer roots. Bryce Gilmore launched his career cooking out of the Odd Duck trailer, and a cult quickly formed around one menu item in particular: the pork belly sliders. When the Odd Duck restaurant opened, fans had hoped for a triumphant slider return, but the dish has never appeared on the menu -- until now.
On Tuesday December 9th, the opening date of both the restaurant and the trailer, the restaurant will throw a party featuring long-gone trailer menu items including, yes, pork belly sliders. A minimum $25 donation at the door covers food and booze, and will help support the Edible Schoolyard program at Zilker Elementary. The party kicks off at 5 p.m. until midnight.
