The wandering trailer serving some of Austin's best barbecue might finally have a forever home. La Barbecue's general manager Ali Clem tells Eater they're currently wrapping up negotiations for a brick and mortar location on South Congress. While they cannot share the exact location yet, Clem says it's right in the heart of the busy (and tourist-heavy) South Congress district.

La Barbecue's trailer set up shop on South First before moving first to East 6th and then to East Cesar Chavez, all the while garnering critical acclaim and lengthy weekend lines. The trailer is on an expansion tear: fire whisperer John Lewis also recently announced plans to open a second barbecue restaurant in Charleston, SC. With both mega-popular Hopdoddy and Home Slice nearby, South Congress could become Austin's premier destination to wait in line for food.
