In all of Austin's mania for locally sourced fruits and vegetables, the prickly pear cactus doesn't get enough love. That's a shame, because there's some great options on local menus, from El Naranjo's nopales clasicos to the prickly pear sorbet that appeared on Dai Due's opening menu.
