Dark prince of Texas barbecue John Mueller's Twitter shenanigans have sparked another barbecue feud. Mueller spent the build-up to a Houston charity event mercilessly trolling up-and-coming barbecue star Ronnie Killen on Twitter, though much of it appeared to be in jest:
"@killensbbq: Sorry folks, we are sold out!" Ha.... Liar

But Ronnie Killen tells CultureMap Houston he found Mueller "arrogant" at Que For a Cause: "He told me, 'you're in the presence of a legend' and 'you should be doing this, you should be doing that.'"
Mueller's alleged behavior, in addition to the media attention lavished on the Austin barbecue scene, has inspired Killen to pop-up at North Loop's Foreign & Domestic on November 16 now November 17, starting at 11 a.m. He'll be serving meat from the same smoker he brought the Texas Monthly Barbecue Festival, which he's since improved. When reached by Eater, John Mueller had no comment about Killen's remarks.
