A beloved classic of the Austin bar scene will shutter at the end of the month. A call to Dog & Duck Pub confirms the long-swirling rumors they will shutter on October 31. The good news: there are definite plans to relocate the bar.
An employee of the pub could not share any more details on relocation plans, or reasons for the shutter. Many, many Eater tipsters cite an impending residential development as the trigger. Watch this space for updates.
Update! The Statesman reports the owners are in negotiations for a space on East 7th Street, and could reopen as soon as January.
