Deep Eddy Cabaret For Sale; Somms Under Fire; Russian House NOLA Fusion Dinner

WEST AUSTIN — The Chronicle reports that longtime neighborhood bar Deep Eddy Cabaret is up for sale. The owners are not looking to sell to the highest bidder, however. Bartender Tony Kuninger says, "I'd be very surprised if they were to sell the Eddy to someone who wouldn't promise to take care of the staff and keep its unique character and spirit alive." CAMPUS — Somms Under Fire, a wine and food pairing competition for top sommeliers, still has tickets available for this Sunday, January 26. The event will take place at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference center on campus, and food will be prepared by Shawn Cirkiel of Parkside.
