RAINEY STREET — Banger's Sausage House and Beer Garden will be hosting Oktoberfest celebrations over twelve of the traditional sixteen festing days from September 21 - October 6. Beer and food specials will abound, and they will also feature games such as "a keg roll, sausage-eating competition, ladder ball, and stein race," according to their press release. The dog-friendly spot will also have a dog portraitist on-site and will be running a fundraiser for Austin Pets Alive. [Eaterwire]
AIRPORT — If beer and sausage aren't your thing, Komé will be hosting a sake dinner with Texas Saké in their private dining room from September 30 - October 3. Tickets for the five-course meal are $75. Komé also recently launched an expanded lunch menu. [Eaterwire]
SOUTH AUSTIN — If neither beer or sake is your thing, maybe bourbon is? The Bourbon, Bluegrass, and BBQ event will be held on Tuesday, September 24, from 6:30-9:30pm at Mercury Hall. The U.S. Bartenders' Guild, whose local secretary is Jessica Sanders of Drink.Well, invites some of Austin's best bartenders to compete by crafting an original cocktail based on a "randomly selected" bourbon. Participating bars include Midnight Cowboy, Contigo, and Whisler's. All proceeds will benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, and tickets can be purchased here. [Eaterwire]
