Austoberfest On September 28; Olive & June's Winemaker Dinner; Drink.Well's Late Summer Menu

DOWNTOWN — Austoberfest is coming to the Austin Saengerrunde, which is a really fun word to say out loud, at 1607 San Jacinto Blvd. on September 28 from 1-6PM. Foodways Texas will present the event, at a venue that was originally a German singing club founded in 1879. The $35 ticket will get attendees all-you-can-eat German-style grub from purveyors like Louie Mueller Barbecue, Frank, La Barbecue, Easy Tiger, and Salty Sow. There will also be, of course, German beer tastings. Tickets can be purchased here. [Eaterwire]

BRYKER WOODSOlive & June will be hosting a pasta and wine dinner on September 16, featuring Tuscan wines from visiting winemakers Emilia Nardi of Tenute Silvio Nardi and Giovanna Moretti of Tenuta Sette Ponti. Executive chef Justin Rupp will present a "multi-course pasta tasting menu" designed to compliment the wines. Tickets for $100 can be purchased here. [Eaterwire]

NORTH LOOPDrink.Well has launched some late summer/early fall additions to their menu (because only Austin is September "late summer," ugh), including cocktails like a gimlet with house-made lime cordial and a "Shrub n' Tug" featuring salted watermelon shrub. Gin-cured salmon and tots with smoked red bell pepper ketchup round out the food additions. [Eaterwire]
