Austin Business Journal has a feature today on six men they call Austin's celebrity chefs: Paul Qui, Bryce Gilmore, Jack Gilmore, Tyson Cole, David Bull and Shawn Cirkiel. Big Austin names, to be sure, but could the ABJ not think of a single female chef? Sonya Cote has her own restaurant group, and chef-about-town Laura Sawicki has national buzz. Back in August, Max's Wine Dive's Erica Beneke lamented how many female chefs were "behind the scenes," and articles like these demonstrate the price of that imbalance. [ABJ]
