Downtown Italian Spot Cherry Street Has Closed

Cherry Street, the downtown Italian restaurant from the team behind Péché, has closed its doors after only a year in business. Cherry Street was beset by negative reviews, garnering a 6.5 from The Statesman, who called the location between U.T. and the Capitol "gastronomical purgatory." A Twitter tipster passed on the info to Eater earlier this morning. Popular downtown cocktail bar and restaurant Péché remains open for business.
