Artz Rib House Still Relaunching as 'Abel's Rib House'

The former Artz Rib House was recently demolished on South Lamar, but a representative from owner Trade Logic has confirmed that plans are still on to re-open the space as Abel's Rib House in January or February of 2014. The location will feature BBQ and "event space," and their group is overseeing the construction. Trade Logic has been buying up numerous classic Austin properties, including Star Seeds Cafe, Cain and Abel's, Abel's on the Lake, El Arroyo and Hill's Cafe.

As for Art Blondin's involvement, the rep would only say that, "We have a relationship with Art. I cannot confirm if he will be involved." When Eater last spoke with Blondin back in February, he had recently been brought in to "redo" the menu at Hill's Cafe, but Hill's reports that he is no longer in the kitchen.
