ALAMOWIRE — Austin's long movie salad nightmare is over: the salads are back in the bowls at the Drafthouse. Owner Tim League has taken to the internet to apologize for the great salad tray experiment, whose point, he says, was to "keep the hot protein off of the cold greens." Bowls should be back by this Friday. [Drafthouse]

EAST SIDE — Elizabeth Winslow visits Eden East and calls it "a magical dining experience." Interspersed with the dreamy pictures is an interview with chef Sonya Cote, who says her earliest food memory is of making "a big bowl of garden tomatoes" with her grandfather and that her passion is "communal" and "local" dining. So, yeah, not talking big revelations here, but Cote's recommendation to pair an old fashioned and a creme brulee actually sounds pretty good. [Camille Styles]

DO GOODING — Make plans now to dine out on Tuesday, September 24. A slew of Austin restaurants will be donating 5% of their proceeds to HAAM, the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, including La Condesa, Sway, Lamberts and TRACE. The full list is available here. Many Austin dining-ish places like sponsor Whole Foods will be featuring live music as well. [Eaterwire]
