TACO USA — The Daily Meal has rounded up "The 35 Best Tacos in America," and six establishments from Austin made the list. Torchy's Trailer Park Taco makes it to #5, and further nods go to the al cabron at Matt's El Rancho, Taqueria Arandas's al pastor, the cecina taco at Papalote, the arabicos taco at La Condesa and the carne guisada at Joe's Bakery. EAST AUSTIN — The Franklin BBQ expansion gets an update in the Austin Business Journal. The owner has put in a request to change their parking lot "into a 4,000-square-foot building," with the goal of creating a more permanent home for the smokers, "as well as provide offices." The expansion has neighborhood support, so it's likely to pass. [Austin Business Journal]

WEST AUSTINLa Dolce Vita, the food festival benefiting The Contemporary Austin's education programs, has announced its lineup for 2013. Over fifty culinary "teams" and wineries will gather at Laguna Gloria on October 24, including Ramen Tatsu-Ya, parkside, and newcomer LaV. The Statesman has the full list.
