DOWNTOWN — The Austin Film Festival will kick off this year with their traditional Film & Food Party at the Driskill on October 23. Honorary chair will be writer/director Shane Black, known for movies like Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and Lethal Weapon. The event will benefit the Austin Young Filmmakers program and feature the "culinary talents" of hotspots like Foreign & Domestic, Garrido's, and Swift's Attic. Tickets can be purchased here. They will be offering drink specials, bands, DJ's, and turtle racing in celebration/sacrifice to the bar gods.
