HYDE PARK — Is the Duval strip featuring Hyde Park Bar and Grill, Mother's Cafe, Quack's and Asti the best food neighborhood in Austin? Culture Map argues that it's hard to beat, especially with the guava gelato at Dolce Vita to the lovely "small selection of wines" at cheese mecca Antonelli's thrown in. Still, East 6th and Manor are booming, and isn't there this place called SoCo? [Culture Map]

EAST 7TH — Butcher shop and salumeria Salt & Time is hosting another of their beer dinners, this time with Colorado-based Oskar Blues. The shop's own Josh Jones was one of Oskar Blues' original employees, and the menu runs from beef shin to beignets. The dinner will be held on Wednesday August 21st at 6PM. Tickets can be purchased here for $60. [Eaterwire]

NORTH LAMARHoundstooth Coffee and Pinthouse Pizza will host their first ever beer and coffee tasting this Sunday at 7:30PM at Houndstooth. The event will celebrate their collaboration, "a Black IPA brewed with YirgZ, an Ethiopian bean roasted by Houndstooth's sister company Tweed Coffee Roasters." Tickets will be $20. [Eaterwire]
