Hickory Street Heads North With 1,000-Bottle Wine Room

New, 1 comment

Hickory Street is leaving the location from which it draws its name for more permanent digs at West Anderson Lane and Shoal Creek Boulevard—its current location downtown is set to become a high-rise hotel. Barcelona and Third Base Sports Bar owner Brendan Puthoff took over Hickory Street last year, revamping the Congress Avenue staple after it shuttered in 2011. Per a press release sent today:

After a successful reopening in February 2012, Hickory Street's move is intended to accommodate more customers by offering a more convenient location that allows for the restaurant to expand. Hickory Street plans to close the downtown location later this year in order to focus on the construction and design of the new space, and will allow the restaurant to relocate its equipment to the new location.
According to the release, chef Camden Stuerzenberger will stay on in the kitchen at the new spot, which will allow him to "expand the Hickory Street menu while still focusing on fresh, locally sourced ingredients." Also in the works: a 1,000-bottle wine room. The new location is expected to open in "early 2014."
