A Congress chef took home first place at Uchi's Chopped-style chef challenge, 86'd, held last night the AT&T conference center. 86'd started at the South Lamar sushi spot, but expanded to include non-executive chefs from around the city, with Congress' John Hajash winning an opportunity to stage for a week at New York City's Atera Restaurant and Ma Peche, among other prizes from the Wine & Food Foundation of Texas.
