Thirteen people have been sentenced to federal prison on drug charges stemming from a heroin ring at the now-shuttered Jovita's in South Austin. Jovita's owner Amado "Mayo" Pardo is alleged to have run the ring, though he died before trial. His brother, 69-year-old Jose Pardo, was sentenced to thirty years. Police say the drugs themselves were actually processed at the restaurant. [KVUE]
