Uncle Julio's, home to Dallas-Fort Worth's favorite sprawling serving of Tex-Mex , the plato gordo, will open its first Austin location, and 17th nationwide, this summer. Via a press release sent this week:
"We are thrilled to bring Uncle Julio's to Austin," says Todd Conger, president and chief executive officer at Uncle Julio's. "Since opening our first restaurant in Dallas in 1986, we have prided ourselves in providing the freshest and highest quality Mexican food in a fun and warm setting. We look forward to sharing our signature dishes and drinks with Austin residents."The newest Uncle Julio's, located in the Whitley building at 301 Brazos Street, is scheduled to open in July and at 9,500 square feet will seat 416 people.
