Native Austinite Mick Vann has lived in Austin for a long-ass time, and so reminisces this week about the Hitching Post and the Nighthawk before a revisit of The Frisco, the last remaining incarnation of the Nighthawk diner chain. Actually, Vann calls it the "new Frisco," because Vann is old-school. He finds "exceptional" onion rings, "comforting" enchiladas and of course the burger, "a great burger patty and cheddar cheese with special relish and secret sauce." [Austin Chronicle]
