After months of poring over thousands of nominations, interviewing chefs, grilling local Eater editors, and examining supporting material, the shortlist for the 2013 class of Eater Young Guns is complete and ready for its debut.
Austin's showing? A triumvirate of talent from Barley Swine, East Side King and Ramen Tatsu-Ya, young chefs and front-of-house folks who show extraordinary promise, as determined by Eater's Young Guns selection committee. Without further ado, congrats are in order for Shion Aikawa, director of operations at Ramen Tatsu-Ya, Jessica Rupert, kitchen supervisor at East Side King, and Sam Hellman-Mass, a sous chef and partner at Barley Swine.
Our Young Guns Class of 2013 will be unveiled in June. Click over to Eater National to find out the identities of the other 47 nationwide finalists.
