Lola Stephens-Bell, owner of east side Cajun and soul food cafe Nubian Queen Lola's, tells the Daily Texan that she's thinking of turning her restaurant into a soup kitchen. "I'm just not the kind of person to just sit and watch somebody in a situation and do nothing," she tells the U.T. student paper, as she's long been "suspicious" of outreach organizations that purport to serve her community but ultimately don't stick around for long.
