Breastaurateur To Support A New Austin Food Truck

New, 8 comments

ATX Brands' Doug Guller, the restaurateur behind downtown Tex-Mex joint Pelons, newly opened craft beer bar Chicago House and the Bikinis chain of breastaurants—he's also the illustrious mayor of Bikinis, Texas—has plenty on his plate, so he's going to hand over management of his Zorro food truck to the winner of a "Trailer Truck-Off" at yet another one of his properties, the historic Scoot Inn on the east side.

On May 4th, seven contestants will compete for a six-month contract to transform the Zorro trailer into a new business model, chosen by Guller and an as-yet-unannounced panel of judges. From today's press release:

All recipes, names and branding used in competition or during terms of the contract will be property of ATX Brands and the winner will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the food trailer. The owner will receive an 80% stake in the Zorro food trailer for the term of the contract and 20% of gross revenue will be paid to ATX Brands on a monthly basis.
Entrants, who must be at least 18 years old, are asked to e-mail a biography and proposal ("which includes an original concept, menu and business plan") to ATX Brands for consideration by April 30th; seven concepts will be selected to compete on May 4th.
