Two esteemed Austin chefs will help select Eater's class of Young Guns 2013: Congress' executive chef David Bull and Uchi's director of culinary operations Philip Speer. They'll join a nationwide supergroup of highly selective chefs, including Andrew Zimmern, David Chang, José Andrés and Alice Waters.
Nominations for this year's class of Young Guns will be taken until March 15th, after which the committee will choose the most promising up-and-comers in the restaurant and nightlife world, whether they're working as chefs or line cooks, sommeliers or bartenders, restaurateurs or maître d's.
Who can be nominated? People under 30 years of age (or who have worked in their chosen field for less than five years) and who must be currently employed in the hospitality industry in the United States. Though you most likely haven't yet heard their names, they must show extraordinary promise.
