The Austin Chronicle reviews east side vegan and vegetarian Jewish deli truck, Schmaltz. Melanie Haupt calls it a "tiny oasis against the backdrop of urban gentrification," slurping down her matzoh ball soup, "kissed by a light, almost buttery broth" on one visit, but "a bit too far on the salty side" on a second. The homemade seitan pastrami was "a bit too mildly flavored," and Haupt didn't get to eat the potato salad, but it has "been getting very good word-of-mouth." [Austin Chronicle]
