Sprawling, Michael Hsu-designed north Austin restaurant and music venue Zed's has closed, but only temporarily, to plan their "next phase" and expand the bar and lounge area. Per to the restaurant's press representatives, who send Eater Austin this statement from general manager Laura Josselson:
Zed's ownership has decided to close doors temporarily as of 2/19/13. We are putting thoughtful time and resources into a plan for the next phase of this establishment so Zed's can return stronger than ever. One of our first moves will be an expansion of our bar/lounge area.Zed's opened in December 2010 and recently revamped their brunch menu.
We apologize to our guests for the inconvenience and are working with our staff to ensure a smooth transition."
