laV, the French and Mediterranean-influenced restaurant was originally one of Eater's most anticipated fall openings of 2013, but thanks to construction setbacks has been held up through this winter. C'est la vie!
The ladies of laV, who include executive chef Allison Jenkins, managing partner and sommelier Vilma Mazaite , executive pastry chef Janina O'Leary (plus not-a-lady executive sous chef Rick Menzen), press on. According to Mazaite, "It is getting closer, and we couldn't be more excited about opening our doors in early 2014."
Bobby McAlpine, an award-winning residential designer, is leading the design as the project architect. "He put his experience to good use, giving us a beautiful space that's warm and inviting," said Mazaite. "When finished, we hope the home-like feeling will help laV become a true neighborhood destination."
The upcoming restaurant is also still hiring. "With the opening coming up, we are racing to get things finished, which includes hiring a handful of front of the house staff to join our amazing team. We're looking for passionate and charismatic people, who are eager to learn, collaborate and start the new year off at laV," added Mazaite.
