Melanie Haupt at The Chronicle reports that Little Barrel and Brown, which replaced The Woodland on South Congress, is now quietly open. She notes that the faux tree inside has been replaced by a more understated interior. On the menu:
A quick glance at the menu reveals a lean collection of Americana fare, from caramel-and-black-pepper popcorn and other assorted bar snacks to red kale and quinoa salads to grilled fish and a variety of other proteins.The restaurant lacks any official online presence yet. The Woodland shuttered in September in order to reconcept as Little Barrel & Brown in partnership with the owners of nearby Botticelli's.
