East Sixth scene-y Mexican restaurant Papi Tino's has announced via Facebook that this Saturday, December 28, will be their last night of service. Owner Alan Gonzales Garcia says:
I'm excited and also very sad to inform you that this weekend will be the last to operate formally as Papi Tino's. It's been an honor to serve and get to know each and every one of you. If you'd like to say hello and/or goodbye, we will all be there this Friday and Saturday starting at 6.The restaurant scaled back to Friday and Saturdays in August, and Garcia told Eater that while he loved running a restaurant on East 6th, the "the places that kill it" are the bars. Papi Tino's opened in Fall of 2011, and over its two year lifespan received mixed reviews.
