Wine & Swine Profile; Grilled Cheese Listage; Cognac Education at Drink.Well

FOOD FESTSCultureMap profiles some of the chefs who are participating in Saturday's Wine & Swine event at Ceres Park Ranch. The pork-centric festival will feature offerings from the likes of Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, Rene Ortiz of Cochi Superstar, and Tatsu Aikawa of Ramen Tatsu-Ya. Pastry chef Erica Waksmunski of Congress says she chose to serve up donuts because, "Who doesn't want warm, fried food when you are eating pork?" [CultureMap]

GRILLED CHEESE WIREZagat rounds up some of the city's best grilled cheese sandwiches, because why not. Sandwiches from Henri's Cheese and Wine and trailer Burro Cheese Kitchen make the cut, as does sandwich superstar Fricano's Deli's version. [Zagat]

NORTH LOOPDrink.Well is hosting a 'cognac education' class on behalf of the Austin Food & Wine Foundation on Monday, November 18th from 6-9pm. The class will include "three cognacs and one classic cocktail with cheese pairings and some small warm bar snacks to enjoy." Tickets are $45. [Zagat]
