Typhoon Haiyan Benefit at Hotel Vegas; New Drafthouse Plywood Report; Hoover's Cooking Underrated

EAST SIXTHHotel Vegas is hosting a blow-out benefit for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines on Wednesday, November 20, starting at 6:30pm. Local business are donating items for an auction, and a number of local bands will perform as well. The first 100 attendees will be entered into a raffle for a free meal from Filipino food truck Be More Pacific. [Eaterwire]

SOUTH LAMAR — The Alamo Drafthouse has released another plywood report for the South Lamar location, this one with real, live enclosed space. The photographs show future theaters, as well as the area that will become the reincarnated Highball. The theater and the Highball are slated to reopen in March. [Drafthouse]
