Josh Ozersky has taken to the internet to declare that if BBQ editor Daniel Vaughn and Freedman's Barbecue pitmaster Evan LeRoy "show me eight or nine first-rate barbecues," he will declare Austin the country's best barbecue city at Meatopia Texas. Ozersky previously called New York the "the best barbecue city," a claim he now attributes to former Village Voice editor and Eater NY contributor Robert Sietsema, whom he was merely "seconding." Ozersky still stands by his claim that "brisket sucks." [Food and Wine]
