Schmidt Family Barbecue, a new restaurant from the family behind Lockhart's renowned barbecue destinations Smitty's and Kreuz Market, opened its doors officially on Monday, October 28. Yes, there was a line.
The family, which famously had a 'barbefeud' in the 90's, came together to open Schmidt as a 'public reunion.' Coals from both Smitty's and Kreuz are burning in Schmidt's new pit, and they are serving up a classic Texas barbecue menu of beef, pork, sausage and turkey. Hours are Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm and Sundays 11am-6pm. Check out the Texasy goodness of their interior below.
