In an interview with Community Impact, Mike McKim, the owner of Cuvee Coffee, said Cuvee was looking to open a space "on East 6th." McKim tells Eater that Cuvee is in lease negotiations at 2000 East 6th Street, a renovated property that has long displayed a sign proclaiming "coffee shop coming soon." McKim says,
"We have been working on the lease for a few months and still have quite a few areas where we are not coming together. I am totally in love with the east side of Austin so if this one does not work out I am sure we can find a space that will."Cuvee previously operated out of Salt & Time on East 7th, and they recently sold that outpost to the butcher shop. McKim first spoke about plans to open their own brick and mortar earlier this fall, saying it will emphasize "friendliness."
