The Statesman reports that the owners of Stubb's Barbecue paid "2.4 million" for the Ridgeway Reprographics building at 615 South Lamar and plan to open a restaurant there. Owners John Scott and Eddy Patterson have yet to announce a concept, but the space will be built around the "50-foot mahogany bar" that the pair bought from New York's famed Cedar Tavern and kept in storage for the past seven years.

Cedar Tavern was a notorious Beat writer and folk musician hangout, and Scott and Patterson conceived of the idea to sell Christopher "C.B." Stubblefield's sauces there. The new space is being designed by metal artist Mickie Spencer of East Side Showroom Fame, and the restaurant is projected to open in October 2014.
