SOUTH FIRST — The Statesman reports that a new gelateria is slated to open at 1713 South First Street in December. Dolce Neve will feature classic Italian flavors as well as "seasonal local" inventions. Co-owner Francesca Silvestrini trained at the Carpigiani Gelato University and worked at Pisa's lauded Gelateria De' Coltelli. Dolce Neve will be debuting their gelato tomorrow night at the Dolce Vita Food Festival. [Statesman]
FAR NORTH — Zed's, north Austin's local-food-focused restaurant and live music venue, is back in business tomorrow, October 24. Zed's recently closed for several months for remodeling. The new space features a bigger bar area and new private dining areas. They've also revamped their menu. [Eaterwire]
