DOWNTOWN — There's a chef shuffle afoot at Searsucker, according to Matthew Odam at The Statesman. Chef de Cuisine Adam Brown is leaving "for personal reasons" to return to Arizona, and executive pastry chef Samantha Hughes, who is Brown's girlfriend, will be leaving with him. Executive Chef and Top Chef alum Brian Malarkey will "be involved" in hiring a new chef, which, you know, is the least he could do. [Statesman]
SOUTH CONGRESS — Zagat presents a day in the life of Home Slice manager Phil Korshak, who they call "a motivator, a mentor and a poet." Revelations include that Home Slice takes their Yelp reviews seriously, they're working on an "ever elusive" gluten-free dough, and the entire evening staff does yoga together before the shift. Keep it weird, Home Slice. [Zagat]
SOUTH LAMAR — CultureMap profiles the strip mall that houses "top-notch Austin funkiness," where The Horseshoe Lounge rubs shoulders with Lick Ice Creams. A list with both Olivia and Barley Swine on it is more high-class than funky chic, though they give equal love to Tex Mex stalwart El Meson. [CultureMap]
