Chef Marcus Samuelsson Is Coming To Austin To Sign His Book And It's Going To Be A Whole Big Thing

Stylish, Ethiopian-born chef Marcus Samuelsson, who you may know from Red Rooster Harlem or the coach cabin on your favorite American Airlines flights, will be in town on July 18th to promote his memoir, Yes Chef. Austinites will have the option of taking a cooking course with Samuelsson or having lunch with him downtown.

At the Central Market on North Lamar, he'll host a special cooking class at 6:30 p.m. That'll cost you $75, and a copy of his book's included.

Or, for $60, you can spend your July 18th lunch hour eating a fancy lunch at Malverde, wherein La Condesa's Rene Ortiz will join Samuelsson in hosting "a collaborative lunch" inspired by Yes, Chef. It's $60 and includes a copy of the book. Menu: herring ceviche, quinoa injera and other items that "[connect] the stories of Mexican, Scandinavian and Ethiopian cuisine." Si, chef!
