It shouldn’t be a surprise that the already swanky team behind Alamo Drafthouse as well as famous Austin bartender Brian Dressel clean up nice. (Check out manager Dressel working the bar in the above pic.) Midnight Cowboy, their new reservation-based cocktail lounge on Sixth Street, looks about as plush as you can get. Reservations have been flying fast since the club opened just a few weeks ago to much buzz (literally, since you have to ring the buzzer for "Harry Craddock" to be buzzed into the building).
We sent award-winning photographer Raymond Thompson to get a look this former “brothel in plain site” and to enjoy a few libations. Three of the “massage” rooms have been converted into private tables for large parties, and cozy booths snuggle in the front room. The bartenders make your cocktails tableside — quite a step up from the traditional guacamole.
