Farm Aid

sfc.jpgThe city's first low-income farmer's market will open today in far east Austin. Run by the Sustainable Food Center, which handles three other markets in Austin, the SFC Farmer's Market East, at 51st Street and Highway 183 will be a way for people to "literally double the value of their food assistance," according to organizers. They'll match fruit and vegetable purchases up to $10 each week, opening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. [KUT]
