Savory chefs have long taken pride in prestigious Food & Wine best-of awards, but now pastry chefs have an opportunity to get in on the action. Today, voting begins for the magazine's people's choice award for best new pastry chef, and three Austin chefs are in the running. To be nominated, a chef has to have been in charge of a kitchen for five years or less.
Austin's nominees are: Laura Sawicki of La Condesa, Josh Matlock of Paggi House, and Steven Cak of Parkside. Voting starts today and ends February 14th.
