This week the Austin Chronicle reviews Bistrot Mirabelle out west off Spicewood Springs Road. Rachel Feit, who has "often wondered why classic-style French bistros are not more common in Austin," likes the "delightfully appealing menu" from owner Brian O'Neill and Chef Clinton Bertrand and notes how busy the place is--even on Mondays, when things are a "little too hectic for the newbie staff." Her only complaint? The steak au poivre's peppercorn sauce was "more like cream gravy for chicken-fried steak than anything else." [Austin Chronicle]
